'Akito' is generally accepted to be the 'white rose', however like all things in this world...compared to what! If you put it alongside a brilliant white carnation, it is definitely ivory/ creamy. Put it alongside something red/black and it will appear very white. It all comes down to how particular the bride is. I've found that in a lot of cases, when 'white' is specified, that means not creamy like say 'Sofie/Bianca'. I would always show the bride a sample of Akito and ask if that is ok. nine times out of ten it is, but you can't guarantee it. If you really have to commit to a variety that is not 'mainstream' then you run a slight risk of it not being available on the day, not turning up etc in which case it can be difficult to substitute. But then again, providing something unusual is what makes you stand out from the crowd. As long as it goes to plan.
