I started doing these quite by accident a few years back when i looked at a photo of what appeared to be a hand tied laying down. I just assumed it was done in oasis and set about trying to copy it. It was only some time later that i looked at the photo again and realised it was the camera angle and was something completely different. I do a lot of them now and it can be a very effective way of creating a 'natural' looking piece. Getting the stem ends to look like they do belong to the flowers is the tricky part but i don't get too carried away with this if there are a lot of flowers. it's probably more critical when the main content is say a few lilies.
