Look at it this way..if a customer bought a craft knife off you...and then slashed her wrists...would you feel responsible?

I think it's reasonable to assume that most people will be aware of the danger of thorns on roses and will take precautions.

Personally, i think they look better with the thorns on, a bit more as nature intended. I would only ever strip the bottom ones to make handling easier and they don't show anyway.

As to the entry of bacteria, yes it's a valid argument but i think the jury is still out on that one. It's quite likely that the roses will be past their best before the little darlings can wreak havoc. If the water is kept reasonably clean it shouldn't be too much of a problem
