UK Skills Competition 2008

Right guys. I've had the date through for UK Skills Competition. It's 18th April in Cardiff. I am absolutely panning it! We were gonna practice techniques and ideas in college, but I have a two-week holiday now so no help from college.

The theme is 'Last Night of the Proms'. I have to produce a grand piano arrangement, a presentation bouquet, a 'surprise item' (don't have any idea what that will be) and a body adornement for the guest soloist. That's the one I'm worried about. I should imagine it will require lots of wire and fancy modern stuff which I don't know much about. Can't take wire etc. That is all provided if they want me to use that sort of stuff.

Any ideas. I have to state the type of 'dress' the soloist will have. That's not to say it will be a women though, as dress means clothes, right? Should I go for a hair-piece? I think I should stay away from neck and chest as these probably need to be clear. Or should I accentuate them?! Argh! Dunno what to think.

Won't know what materials etc. I will have to work with. Anyone entered serious comeptitions before. Judges are people like Paul Ravens etc. I guess I should study my SOF handbook for specifications on pieces.

Thanks in advance.
