Dianthus is reallllllly slowly coming back here too..and there is soooo much you can do with them!! Last year we did a bq with only green dianthus and ornithogalum arabicum, pulled typha criss- cross over it and one single mini cala layed in the middle across. looked amazing! (AND I think I'm going to buy stocks in the aluminum wire company!
I'd be my best customer!)
