The day that the people who set these assignments move into the real world, cannot come soon enough for this industry,by all means give students a general grounding on this kinda stuff, but to labour on it serves no great purpose...JUST MY OPINION...WAS SHOUTED...

I'm doing Lv3 BTEC National award ALL our assignments and evaluations have to have the Latin names for fresh materials used, if they do not we get them back and told to redo them with the Latin names, this is apparently because ALL suppliers the world over use Latin names - our tutor says it's the International way??!! (just to say I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone) so we have to learn them it's on the grading criterea that we use the Latin names and spell them correctly (unlike my english). But reading your threads I'm getting confused because we learnt that soft ruscus in Latin was Ruscus racemosus - so are we all learnign different names for the same thing and if so are we going to confuse the suppliers that use the ''International Lanuage '' for ordering fresh supplies??
