hi gill

, not saturday night anymore

, sunday morning reality time, hangover and all
I was never very good at assignment work but will try and help a wee bit. effective use of flowers and colour in a traditional arrangement - think effective use of flowers would be, smaller flowers on the outside and larger ones nearer the middle to create visual balance, recession to create depth and the darker the recessed colour the more depth you create??? OMG what am i on about

anyway, I'll continue with me waffle.....contemporay, the use of large headed flowers, lines and grouping of flowers creates impact and interest, most modern designs foliage plays a big part in with large leaves, grasses, plaited (spelling) leaves etc, being just as important for impact and interest. funeral work, by using double chrysanths for basing means you can create a wide range of design shapes, 3d etc, because the whole point of doing these shapes is at the end of the day they look realistic as well as neat (more waffle)? also i think effective use of flowers in funerals would be to use open blooms as opposed to tight buds, for 2 reasons, more impact and you can use less flowers and get a bigger design.....it only really needs to look fabulous for the funeral. weddings, colour would be when you match up the colour of the bridesmaids dresses with the flowers, effective use of flowers, well probably by using choice blooms like orchids, roses etc, making the wedding design special? Colour is a bit of a minefield really with its monocromatic (spelling), one colour if i remember correctly, making designs look kind of classic i suppose, all white springs to mind. bright, spring colours creating more impact? Anyway, hope this helps a bit
