Another thing to keep in mind when giving staff a pay rise is that the more they earn the more tax and national insurance they pay, but your Employers insurance on them (especially full timers) will be more each month than what the employee pays per month so not only have you got more wages to pay but an increase on the paye as well, this is one of the little things that the employee does not see!
