is it warm and humid over your way? Are they standing in the sun? If yes to these 2 questions you can compare your hostas to those little old bitties from Canada that they call snowbirds...little 70-90 year olds whose migrate to Florida for the winter thinking that its better to sit in the sun and get brown...but once they're down there they realise its waaaaaay to warm to sit in the sun...this after their skin has gone all flaccid

(dark leathery brown-eww!), so off they go in little groups of 5 or six to the bar that is in the shade under some some palm trees to slurp up a few exotic drinks....like sex on the beach!....and VOILA...they are turgid!!!
and they next moring it starts all over again!! So there you go, thats the explanation why your hostas are like the snowbirds

seriously tho, hostas aren't sun lovers!
