Hi Passionflowers think it would be lovely for you to use some foliage from your dads garden. I did this for my neighbour last year, his wife loved their garden, it made it extra special, I also had a lady who bought some foliage in from her hubbys garden for his tribute, beautiful cordiline and black grasses, I think it makes them so much more personal.
