To make pommanders, you can either use the netted oasis balls or make your own. I usually use a third of an oasis block and shape into a ball - cheaper?

Then get some chicken wire and wrap around the ball and secure using wires where the ends meet.

To make the handle, get the ribbon and fold in half. Tie at the loose ends so you have a 'circle' of ribbon. Bend a long wire, hook through the ribbon, and push through the top of the oasis. When it comes out the bottom of the oasis, twist together and then return both ends into the oasis to secure. This will ensure any swinging that goes on (!) means the ball won't escape off the ribbon!

I usually glue flowers in if they are big, but I almost always use spray roses.

And yes, try to do the evening before to stop any leakages.
