see now here's my thoughts, ok fair enough you've decided to have kids i.e. your choice, knowing you have to give something up to bring them up - again muchos respectos - however... I don't understand why, rather than become a kitchen sinker, people don't just try for a part-time job in floristry. Kitchen sinkers are detrimental to the floristry industry as a whole. Yes there are the not so good ones, which really give floristry a bad name, but then the others which fair enough might be good, but they are still able to undercut the professional florists with a shop therefore pushing them out of business.
I'm not saying that every florist with a shop will be affected, but it really isn't fair on the small businesses. I think it's good that people come on here and ask for advice and it's good for them to see both sides of the equation not all the nicey nicey do this, do that, here you go. I'm sure Sharon is mature enough to see this and appreciates everyones comments, whether they be postive or negative. Life isn't all sugarcubes and cake. |

Tree i think you should get more proper shop experience, work full time somewhere for at least a couple of years before buying a shop, gives you more experience with pricing, etc, 2 college students, (well newly qualified) opened a shop near us, and they had closed it within 6 months.[/quote]
Thanks Elouise, that's why I'm so cautious about making sure I do it right. Financially, could buy a shop 'tomorrow' but know that's not for me without the experience. ![]() |
