Well, I think an official hello is in order.

I had already jumped into this forum to get some help. Thanks to all who came through for me!

I have been (and still am) a Professional Marriage and Family Counselor for years.......specializing in working with Couples. I have a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology, and passed two exams to become licensed.

Throughout most of my life I've always had creative hobbies like stained glass, interior decorating, and of course, creating beautiful flowers. 2 years ago I took a course in floral design and have done flowers for 2 weddings this year - not as a business, but for my daugher and for a wedding vow renewal ceremony I had with my husband in Hawaii. I also created some designs for my Counseling office.

The Reverend who did the ceremony for my husband and I was extremely excited about the bouquet I did for my ceremony. He wants me to make bouquets for his brides. And everywhere I went, the compliments kept coming about my bouquet. I think I have a talent for it.

So now I am stocking my home studio and setting everything up legally, to establish my business.

This forum seems very friendly and I'm happy to find it. I look forward to being here as we all try to support each other to make our businesses all that we want them to be.

Hey Roberta.. Any luck with the Frangipanni??

Yes.....I've finally had some luck. Geeeezzzzzzzz, it took hours for me to find them!!!!

What's amazing is I found them on Ebay, of all places. I never would have guessed. A guy from Austrailia sells them in abundance. I've already had him ship some to me and they are on their way. They are exactly what I wanted, and a fantastic price.

You may be starting a new "fad" in your part of the world..!

It was a major headache, but It will be worth it.

I have a wedding agency that wants me to supply them. Looking forward to that.

I've still got a website to build (although I do have experience with that), and lots of other things to do to prepare to take Hawaii by storm with those wonderful frangipanis

How's the world of flowers going for you??

Really shouldn't be on here but I seem to be in a mood that gets side tracked easily..!!

I am about to start my Wedding for tomorrow - but after a busy and hectic few months I am enjoying having a more "restful" weekend - There is only one this weekend. This wedding is having White and pink oriental lillies with white Singapore Orchids. Apart from the Frangipanni being popular at the moment, Every 2nd Wedding seems to feature oriental lillies... and like the Cluster rose posies of a few years ago I am growing tired of them.. but hey its all money and thats what I do...!


Here the trends have been over the last say 6 years...

Gerbera posies, Rose posies, Lilly posies, Frangipanni teardrops, Lilly and Frangipanni teardrops and now there seems to be a trend back towards the roses, but in more unusual colours with "bling" such as crystals, beads etc

oh and I forgot, orchids are also very popular ...
