New to this site and I am so happy that I have found this. I think that this sire will be very useful tome.

In June I got my City and Guilds in Floristy ( I am a mature student) and I am currently completing my 2nd year on City and Guilds Floristry Techniques and Designs. I started this course in Sept, and although I am enjoying it I think that it can be really hard for me to be creative and think of new ideas and styles.

I have had 3 work placements and each one has been so different and work differently that sometimes I find it confusing. I am currently in a new placement 1 day a week since Aug were they specialise in Exotic flowers and modern arrnagements. I think that this will help me with the aboove course.

I think that to be creative that you have to mentally stop thinking and just do - but it is the letting go - so to speak - that I am having difficulty.

Do any of you rememebr feeling like this and will it all slot into place and come together soon!

Hey Lulu, feel like it sometimes myself...have recently changed careers from being an asistant clinical psychologist to taking over the family floristry business, currently on my final year of a BA (Hons) Floristry design course...its not easy, but my best advice is that yes things do get easier, but firstly find you own design style that you are happy with...haven't found mine yet, but am getting there...with each order and piece you do it does get easier I promise!

Confidence does play a part, personally I put myself into the line of fire by entering my 1st competition after only doing 4weeks of floristry...I didn't get placed that time, but got some very useful feedback...thats one option

The other is to just do what is asked of you to the best of your ability...my thinking is that if you are not happy with your work don't send it out until you are...
