Hi everyone, newby here.
Hello ppl, just happened to find this site while job hunting so thought I'd sign up and pick your brains..
I am currently a florist in Yorkshire (Interflora) been there over 20 years now, started as a Saturday girl and never left.. I have now purchased a home in Oxfordshire and actively seeking employment, don't really want to be a florist anymore (well the weekend work is a put off) but then again don't want to throw away 20+ years knowledge. I could go into secretarial as I have the necessary skills but think it could be a bit mundane after doing this job... Any ideas guys? |

Hello Scarlet and Funky, I'd feel a bit daft going to see a careers adviser at 35
and as for teaching hmmm it hasn't crossed my mind to do that. I did apply for a job in sales with a florist wholesale selling silks, glassware etc on the road, thought ooh that would be different, I drive 300+ miles every weekend, but I didn't get the job for lack of sales experience What do they think we do grrrr, they would sooner employ someone with so called "sales" experience than someone that knows the products inside out, can't win ![]() |
