thanks everyone for making me feel welcome.

Rainbow I work full time. I have thought actually of asking for saturday or casual weekend work, to get some shop experience. Just feel a bit silly asking.

Is the weekend a busy day for shops? Just wondering whether I would have much of a chance for getting weekend work?

Hi and Welcome Colleen. In answer to your question, Saturday's are normally quite busy especially now during wedding season. Although most of the wedding stuff is done on the Friday. However go for it girl!! You have lost nothing by asking - what have you lost if they say no. I guarantee you will learn so much.

Go on take the plunge - you know you want to!!!!

Hi ya,

I am now to the site too and felt the same as you about asking for some experience with a florist, but I am going to go for it this week and ask a few local places. I am lucky I now work part time so can be free on Fridays. Go for it and hopefully we'll both have some good news to report in a few days.

I know how you feel Colleen - I finish my course in a few weeks and then plan to try and get a Saturday job as I work full time. I know if I get one I'll be the oldest Saturday girl in town, but don't care as long as I get some experience Good luck

I've just finished C&G L2 as well and am thinking of asking in local shops, its a scary thing to do, but as the others have said what have we got to lose!
