Ang, my advise to you is that if the florist you have chosen to do your flowers are not giving good , sound advise and doesnt have a good portfolio of work, photos of work they have done etc Avoid them ,and find a florist who does. There are alot of bad ones out there !

wedding appointment

Dear Ang

has your florist not offered you a wedding consultation yet? There is a massive campaign for real floristry at present and with the increase in college's offering flower arranging courses, every man and their dog think that they are florists, so, florists are rightly so being careful of what they say when asked about their skills and knowledge. We will not talk to any brides until we have taken a non-refundable booking fee, which secures the date in the diary. Once we have received this fee, only then we will arrange a consultation with a qualified florist. This is done because in the past brides were booking their date in the diary and cancelling due to auntie flo doing the flowers and we have already turned other brides away because they wanted that date. Your florist should be able to have a meeting with you and he or she will be able to explain everything that is suitable and in season for your wedding.

As most of the replies have said, as your wedding is such an important occasion the best place for advice is to consult with a good local florist . A good florist will be able to discuss your dress style, height, colours,likes/dislikes and seasonal flower availibility with you, show you pictures and together you will come up with something fabulous. There are some Florist News members in Scotland but I'm not sure if any of them are near Perth. (Assuming you're not in Australia!) .
Good luck with your wedding!
