No idea if its spelt right but it means thank you in Malay ! The only word I can remember but a very important one as its nice to be polite to the locals in their own language. They really appreciate it....just embarassing when they try to carry on the conversation and get a blank expresion back! Teach me for trying to be flash! I do love Malaysia.Beautiful country and lovely people xx

The correct way of spelling it is "Terima Kasih!"

fly2hi,

You are definately right. I wonder if you are Malaysian too . And do you know where the people those days got that name of "Bandar Penggaram"?

Because at that time, the main activity of the native people there is "salting the fish" (salt = garam). Thus "penggaram" just mean as "the salting fish people" (am i using the right language?) hehe..
