Hi Benny Boo!
I'm Jake and have just completed my ANCF. Studying for ICSF in September. I think that is terribly short-sighted of your boss; she should encourage young talent and nuture your skills. One day you may be competition, which would be healthy for her. But if she trained you, you'd be more inclined to set up away from her. Books! Gosh I love floristry books! If, like me, you like to understand the logic behind things, the Rosemary Batho books are a solid foundation (beginners and advanced guides to Floristry). For inspiration and lovely pictures try Paula Pryke and Liz and Claire Cowling. Gregor Lersch is a European Master, and very 'different', not my cup of tea, but a Floristry God nevertheless! Life3 are great too. Look at websites if you can't get the books for the latter two. Look in your local library if you want to do some research over the summer. They can get books from other libraries too, so you can have them sent to your local! Sorry to waffle, I do that quite a lot. Really looking forward to hearing about your progress. Lovely to have you here!
