Not been down your way for a while.
I hope you can keep missing this dammed weather, friends in Yorkshire have had to be shut today, and they hope not too much more of the rain falls.

I'm in Bromley (kent) which is on the edge of London (15 mins on the train - an hour to drive!).

Weather grey and showery here - and being a wimpy southerner I am feeling cold! Been back in my boots for the last 2 days having just come back from holiday and lived in sandals all last week

I only joined the site last week and am addicted! I have just set up a part time business - got my 1st 2 enquiries and had loads of great advice from the guys on here. Hoping to make the break into floristry full time over the next couple of years (finances stopping me) as know I need to work in a shop to get practical experience - will hopefully get a Saturday job after I finish my next course and be the oldest Saturday girl in town

Hi Floralpride, I'm way down south too near Brighton. I'm always being asked for silk flowers but never found a decent supplier and I think like Elouise said, whatever you stock they want different!!

I sell mainly wedding bouquets etc. either ready made or done to order, on my website.
It has taken a long time to get the supplies I want.
Some of the basics, like decent roses, I travel down to Yorks or Glasgow for, SIA do lovely quality flowers and my best find was a small wholesaler about 10 miles from home! They export loads of their thistles and heathers to USA.
There are not really any decent large wholesalers up here, you have to travel to get the good stuff.
I would have liked to get another shop, but the only one I fancied was 33miles away. You get used to having to travel, but I dont want to do that daily, so opted for the internet and just silks.

hey floralpride, being that i'm just down the motorway from you could you give me the name of your local supplier? we really struggle to find even half way decent stuff.

Hi Solly, certainly is a small world! New Deer is the nearest place to us, about 3 miles away. Also I will be down visiting friends near Hull next week!
