Hi Gringo. You sound fun so look foward to joining this forum and hi to all forum members. I am a mature!! florist, but young in heart and spirit. Working with our younger staff certainly keeps us up to date with music and fashion, not only in clothes but their input on the floristry scene is special. I am lucky enought to be near Writtle College so am able to attend their short courses and workshops, which are invaluable. At the moment up to our ears in it. We are moving into temporary accomodation, did we really accumulate all that junk!, while we are having a new shop built, so we have a blank canvas to design a new shop interior.Which means visits to shops in London and hopefully to Amsterdam, can you recomend any. What a great day it been, roll on summer.

Hi, i am sigrid, from holland. I make flowerpieces for special occasions, not really run a bussiness for it , its more of a hobby that got out of hand to be honest

Hi BB, welcome to the forum. It's a little quiet at the moment on the forum, but I think people just need to get over their fear of posting, then this definitely could be a very useful aid to everybody in the florist/retail/wholesale flower industry.

Hi

I've been working as a freelance florist for 4 years but the last year I've grown far too big for my house so I've just bought a unit that needs a lot of work but will eventually be a very large shop. I'm very excited about the expansion but don't seem to have much time on my hands to get it sorted at the moment! Walls are coming down on Saturday though which is a start.

hi,my name is Joan,I have been a florist for 25 years,I now have 2 shops, one in Billericay high st.,no that's not in Ireland!! it's in essex.,and one on the outskirts of the town. I started as a greengrocer,then introduced floristry later.I love my job with a passion,even after all this time.
My daughter,Jodie has also joined the business,so i am now kinda part time,cos when Jodie works,I look after my beautiful grandson Jake.look forward to hearing from any florist out there to learn more,or if you need advise e'mail me ,only too glad to help.

hi everyone, i am a florist shop owner in upton nr pontefract, west yorkshire england. used to teach at college but too much paper work so opened my shop 5 yrs ago and enjoy my days off

!!!! i love work, we enter competitions every year we have wone over 40 in 5 yrs. i have been a florist fo 16 yrs and attended bishop burton nr beverly. i have a very understanding (lots of wedding work) partner and a creative 10year old son... talk soon.
