Hello from Inishowen, County Donegal
Hi there from Inishown in County Donegal.
I have my garden centre complex and as part of the centre we have a flower shop 1800 MyFlorist. We have only opened this in April of this year and it is going very well. We cover a large delivery area, about a 35 mile radius, for Telelflorst and our own Telesales and Internet businesss. We are opening a further two shops in 2007 in the North West Ireland area. I am originally from Midlothian in Scotland and before moving to Ireland I worked in some leading garden centres, nurseries and florists across Edinburgh and West Lothian. For our shop: www.myflorist.ie www.flowersinahurry.ie www.desginerflorist.ie and for a little bit more about our area www.buncrana.com, www.newtowncunningham.ie and listen to the craic on www.highlandradio.com Cheers Gareth ![]() |

Hello! :-)
My name's Fi and I'm not a florist... but my ultimate dream is to train and eventually own my own business. As I said it's a dream right now but with hard work and determination I will realise it one day! I've come here in the hope of getting tips on what courses to do and how to move on in the world of floristry! Right now I'm enjoying being a mum (I have a daughter aged 3) and have just started a new life living with my very wonderful boyfriend :-) ![]() |

Hi, my name is Avril, I work for an Australian Internet Marketing firm and we are new in the flower business, looking to support florists with websites that aren't doing anything for their business.
We've started a website, http://www.findmeflowers.com.au/, to get a toe hold in the industry. Nothing like diving in the deep end to know the problems first hand ![]() This looks like a fun board ![]() |

Hello everyone, I LOVE this site!!
My name is Jo, Im 30 years old and I own a florist in Pwllheli, North wales which I opened in 1999. I trained in the Welsh college of horticulture, Northop completing a national diploma in floristry (and gaining a husband!). I have been in this industry since 16yrs old as a saturday girl, then at 18 decided floristry was for me and went to college, when I finished the course I spent 3 years travelling 40 miles a day to work for a florist in Bangor, north wales and then when the travelling got too much, set up my own shop when I was 22yrs old. (that was an exciting but worrying time of my life!) I love this job, i can't imagine doing anything else now- except I do have a two year old little boy who comes to work with me 3&half days a week .. its very hard feeling torn between the job i so love and wanting to be the best mummy in the world! After I gave birth to him I was doing a big wedding order a week after I had him and was back to work when he was 8 weeks old! i'm lucky to be able to bring him to work with me and he is having a very special upbringing, so many of my customers ask about him- he's got more money in his bank account then me!!! Anyway, as you can tell- i have a tendancy to go on a bit when talking about the loves of my life (my husband included! ) so i'm looking forward to getting involved in the fab site. speak to you soon! Jo |
