Haha I am really price senstive on roses, we have to really need something for me to pay more than 50/60p for it, people just moan about our prices otherwise. I'm never disciplined with Baccara though, it's one of my favourites, I always buy it if it's less than 50p whether we need it or not.

one of my brides is having purple and lillac flowers she was going for lillac roses for the bridesmaid but now they are having lillac dresses so she wants purple bouquets for them..the bride is having a shower of double purple lizzie and lillac roses, I couldn't think of any other similar flowers in purple for them other than the lizzie but you don't get many heads on the lizzie so make a compact hand tied any ideas?? p.s. its in september...ooh do you think purple dahlias would be difficult to get and expensive?

What about purple phlox or freesia? I've become a bit of a convert to phlox this year. We had a lovely Ecuadorian spray rose off Metz the other week, Blue Moon I think it was called, proper silvery blue, dead cheap - 50p ish - really heavy stems but opened overnight, not really a lot of use for anything other than wedding work.
