You are making me panic now! I have 1st gerbera wedding in Sept. Germini posies - was going to wire them for extra support. Are they that disasterous?? Hope its really cool by then?

Have done a couple of germini wedding boqs, pain in the ass. Told both brides that I would not accept any responsibility for them not lasting. Definately need to wire them and if you can persuade them to have foliage all the better, neither of mine would so had to make them quite domed to try and disquise the stems a bit. Suggest you get some cheapys if you can and have a practise, sorry no pics try google images.

Thanks for wise words. Can't pursuade or approach bride about it now as it ws organised way back. Thought sept would be ok as I did say wouldn't be a chance in high suummer. Will just have to cross all fingers and deliver it in water.

Gerbera bouquets were all the rage a couple of years ago... every weekend there was at least one Wedding using these, not so much this year but i still get the odd Bride wanting them in fact there is one next weekend.
Never had a problem with them lasting, most designs are just a natural stem posy with a camellia leaf edge and the stems bound with ribbon and pinned - very, very easy to make and very popular.! Just make sure that the stems are wired to hold up the heads. |

Single gerbs
I once had a bride who wanted all her little bridesmaids to carry a single gerbera each. I was determined that they would hold up well throughout the wedding - so I wired and wired and wired and wired them. By the time I had finished the only way those stalks would break would be if someone took a saw to them. They held up very well on the day. Only later did I wonder if I had made lethal weapons for young children to carry. If they had done some serious damage to each other in a "gerbera fight" would I have been libel?
