70's theme

Got to do table decs for a 70's theme party. Got a budget of £20 to £25 a table, she wants real bright gerbs ie cerise orange and yellow or similar. She wanted Ostrich feathers but I can only find quite short ones however i have got a job lot of peacock feathers. Were these kind of 70's Biba stylee? Am a late 70's child so bit before my time! (Am using the tall lily vases to keep flower costs down) Any mad ideas?

Think psychedelic (sorry about spelling) baby, bright and surreal. Bright oranges, hot pinks, anything wacky and way out. loops and fancy stuff unless you can get some hot pink grasses to manipulate will be out. Hard to do for that budget but I guess it depends on how big the table is. Good luck

Thanks Abi, that was kind of the way I was going with it. Only going to be three gerbs a vase and have seen some 'tasteful' silver bear grass, should do the trick.

Will warn you though what they have on the website is not necessarily what they have in stock!!!!!

Sorry Chris, got the feathers already, it was long ostrich she asked for but I've got the peacock so wouldn't mind using those up! Good site though, going to have a nose at that later!

have you checked the price of decent sized ostrich feathers. Bad enough buying them wholesale, but some of the sites i found on the net ages ago were really silly money. You wouldn't be able to anything with that budget.

70's ??? yes i was there...can't remember much about it...you could just try doing a pyramid of empty beer cans on each table.

Only found the stumpy feathers on Jet supplies so gave up on that idea. Shiny shiny disco balls is a great idea though!! I'd thought about adding some wires too. Thank you all.
