actually can't remember the last time before the car bow I used any
funeral i think...still not very often only if it has to be. Really pees me off when people come in asking to buy some in a bizarre colour and I want to say nobody else wants it I'm not gonna buy any new stuff!

So if poly is consigned to the bin, what is your favourite alternative?

We like to use raffia a lot, but still use poly bows for some hand ties.

i am trying to a do costing at the mo before the shop opens and compare poly ribbon with higher quality wire edge ribbon. the thing is, you use soooooo much polly ribbon making bows yet only need a quarter of the edged ribbon to make a bow, so maybe it will even out cost wise.

can anyone understand what i have just written. i bloody can't

Poly ribbon, vile. If I really must then it would have to be black but only if they gave me a chinese burn and made me do it.

I understood every word Louise, which sadly means that you are as mad as me!
I agree with you, I don't like poly ribbon but a lot of the customers do. When I offer them a small bow of chiffon type ribbon or a big bow of polly ribbon most go for the poly ribbon. It's a matter of taste I guess.
I try to stick to raffia on all the modern designs, and the nice ribbon for all the expensive hand ties. Any other suggestions out there????

I'm using raffia quite a lot just now, it gives such flair and pzazzzzzzzz!
However it is proving a tad difficult to persuade the more elderly in the village that less is more. They still prefer the big flouncy show of poly ribbon and wonder why i am using STRAW to tie my bouquets "Is it 'cause times are a bit tough dearie! "
Head and brick wall are the 2 words that spring to mind
