That's why i prefer funerals. it's all done and dusted within the week. consultation...10 minutes.
When i think back to last year and look at all the notes, drafts, redrafts, quotes, emails etc it gives me a headache. I stopped taking weddings last november when i knew what i was doing and even though it's still been a rollercoaster, i hate to think how i would have coped if i'd had to deal with that lot as well. |

You are lucky having a week over here for example if you pass away before 12 midnight Mon you are buried Wed provided remains can come home. The remains is kept in the family home for 2 nights and then burial most of the time we get our funerals mid morning for delivery the following morning and most of them would be deliveried at 9am as most funerals are 10am

Generally about a week, jan-feb up to 10 days due to the backlog over xmas. Gives you plenty of time to get organised. F/d over the road gets hell over it. They come in and say "we'd like it done in 2 days"....sorry..next week at the earliest, if they can fit you in. Or..we'd like it on Sunday. ok, the crem will open for you but there is a £2,000 extra charge

Nothing much happens over xmas so they are stacked up and then it all starts in the new year, hence jan is very very busy funeral wise. To get the crem open on a sunday means getting all the staff in etc and i suppose paying everyone double time for the whole day, plus turning on the oven. we still get a lot of short notice work as people find out about the funeral, but generally the main tributes give plenty of notice. It's handy for getting white double open and as much as i carry a lot of frames, there's usually something i have to get hold of.

Yes they always want the one you haven't got I find our funeral work is a little more expensive and the time scale is the deciding factor there as flowers are usually very fresh and not had time to really open up given the short notice we have
