help....PLEASE

Need help....please.

Does anyone know of a nicer, better way of making a small, short message, like you put across heart, pillow etc., to go across a funeral tribute other than the horrid aluminium letters. (circa 1970's, thought they were tacky then).

Is there some new, wonderful small lettering that I have missed.......any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

The only other letters i know of is the gold letters but find them a pain to get on the ribbon. I use the aliminium letters but dont use the backing, they look much better just stapled onto nice ribbon. You could also try writing on the poly ribbon yourself, i have done this using a silver pen and a tipex pen for white.

aarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr doh

you can get a ribbon machine that types onto the ribbon but as these cost £500 + vat, they might be a tad expensive

I personally dont know how anyone could get their money back unless they do continuous funerals anyway but i do the same as Amanda and Apple, gold and silver do look nice as well.

hope this helps mards

Plastic Tweezers!

I'm not a lover of too many letter on a floral tribute but sometimes the "customer is always right" and you have to do what they want ........ even if it's against your better advice.

I find if you staple them on to voile ribbon they don't look so "heavy".

As you can see from the pics the silver letters spray up really nicely in different colours. Give them really fine coats and make sure they are completely dry before you handle them.

Another good tip is to hot glue them directly on to the flowers. You will need a pair of plastic tweezers or you'll get your fingers burnt ........ if they insist on more than a couple of words I much prefer this option.

Like you not a big fan of sashes, but if they ask they can have them, but what i really detest is my gorgeous tribute being turned into a sandcastle with 8 upwards card messages sticking out of it,but heyho if thats what they want, just have to grit my teeth and smile politely..

the wholersaler prints messages for us on poly ribbons but only does gold lettering - just pay per letter
but i did a babies casket spray ( they had grandson across it) with the stick on letters from osbournes and it looked quite neat i added a bit of glue to the ribbon to help hold the letters on cos it was raining and didn't want then to wash off.
the lady was pleased with it.
some of the stationary shops do different sizes and styles and colours too
