Basing with Santini

I have to do a pair of 3-D baby bootees for a funeral next week, they need to be fairly small to sit on a posy pad base so decided to base them in Santini, had a play yesterday and this has worked really well, the problem I have is that I gave them a couple of coats of spray paint yesterday and this morning the centres have discoloured, am experimenting with a few things to see if I can prevent this happening but just wondered if anyone else has experienced similar problems

Whoops meant have based with Stallion as felt double white would be too bulky.

I would think stallion looks really pretty on a small piece like that and yes, white double would have swamped it.....but....did you have to pin every stem?
Stallion is so fragile i could never manage to just push it in, apart from the leading flower head, had to use rose wires on every tiny stem...took forever

Same here. Used it on a logo Smithers Oasis created for me, and it was a nightmare. Every stem had to have a hole made in the foam first otherwise I would have had to wire each head!

I wired each stem but as the boots are fairly small it didn't take too long, think we've sorted the problem out now though it was either caused by the wire coming to far into the centre or spraying too heavily or possibly a combination of both. Certainly wouldn't want to use Stallion on a larger piece.

Ali will you post a pic of them I would love to see what they look like finished.

I had to wire stallion once for a funeral, I was dreading it. Then I remember how a friend said she got through the day when she had a very boring job in a factory. I put some music on just sang away to it (it was after shop hours cos I think it may be illegal to torture customers.) Wouldn't willingly offer to do it again though! {wire stallion ~ not torture customers ~ willing to do THAT anytime }
