Morning
Have my small Hand Tied exam tommorow.
Very worried about it at the moment, need to get my flowers this afternoon and still dont know what I'm going to do Not sure what foliage to use around the outside, was thinking that Leatherleaf would be safe, but rather boring, would love to use Ivy or roll up some aspidistra leafs, but as I've only practiced a few times that would be dangerous. Does anyone know how much the Calla Lillys are per stem? Did think of adding a few of them among some pink roses, just dreading this. Any suggestions greatfully received Bel x |

Thanks Elouise.
I'll stick to roses then, and take a look at carnations. The florist I buy my flowers from are usually quite friendly if not busy, so I'll ask her advice. Can't believe how nervous I am about this one B x |

salal is good foliage (and cheap) for filling out in handtieds, i agree with eloiuse you're best sticking with the basic flowers with sturdy stems you can still make a nice handtied with standard flowers in funky colours. have fun

Good luck for tomorrow.
I used to get a bit nervous before hand, the problem was I tented to over think what I had to do. You can panic if it isn't turning out how you imagined, well that's were the term adapting the design comes in, so don't worry just enjoy & have faith in yourself. Love Kez x |

thats good advice Kez- When in a shop enviroment and someone comes in asking for a posy you don't really have a lot of time to think about how you want it to look, just pick out the flowers you like (a good mixture of different shapes and textures like you've been advised) and arrange them on the day.
You're doing really well so far Belinda- just keep doing what your doing! Good luck Jo x |
