sheaf???

hi guys.. i have been asked to do a sheaf for a funeral..do you think i should put cello on it or take it without? what is the done thing??

I tend not to. However, if they ask for a sheaf I usually persuade them to have a spray with the stems instead.

Cellophane is more rubbish to dispose of; natural will deteriorate over time, and looks nicer too!

Amanda's suggestion is a good one. Easier than a proper spiralled funeral sheaf.

Yeah I still find some customers stuck on this old fashioned idea of a sheaf - I let them call it a shaef but I really do a flat backed hand-tied bouquet - then it's easy to put a bow on and no need to bother with cello, or sometimes I just have some cello at the back

That reminds me of a note that was once left for me from a customer.

I have decided on what to have for the funeral, can I have a big sheath because he's a big bloke?

I don't want to think what she was going to do!

I make a flat backed hand-tied as todd described.

Don't Flo and Todd, it has started me laughing all over again. Worst thing was I was expecting another family in to look at funeral flowers, and only just got myself together in time!

We never use cello with sheafs...much nicer without...much more natural.....
