If someone has had no kind of training, either bench or college, how do they know how to wire all the different types of flowers/foliage. How do they know how to condition, store and maintain all the different blooms. How do they know how to make all the different types of arrangements, designs and wedding bouquets......it must be a very expensive learning curve to get to the point where they can say 'yes I can make anything' with any kind of conviction and know they can just turn round and make it........ JMO

There is nothing more unprofessional than goin into a shop and having your money refused because the florist cant make what your asking for? only when a florist is confident (and maybe qualified) should they be opening a shop !

Only this afternoon, lady came in and wanted to buy a teddy bear oasis frame, sorry we dont sell that kind of thing. So many people trying to make their own, weddings, funerals etc. Why cant people leave it to the professionals.

I have known people want to make their own tribute after a lost, especially of a young child. Personally, I am happy to help them in this circumstance, in any way I can. I dont think it matters if the tribute doesnt look professional as its made from the heart. However this is entirley different to a florist doing rubbish work and charging the earth for it. The problem is people just dont look at the tributes with the same eye that we do. I recently commented how bad I thought a few tributes were at a funeral I went to and the people I was with thought I was being over critical, and they were really bad!

yeahhh,,,they don't like it do they!!! And the cheeky buggers usually have an armful of cheap flower as well when they come in!! They just don't get it do they.

I have someone who must be fairly local to me who "does flowers" and their funeral sprays are made square and the foam is covered with silver foil and every stem is standing straight up,,usually just carnations and whole stems of xanths..I kid you not people!

We are all over critical,,if something offends our eye it haunts us and we have no respect for those that cannot do what we can do..am I right?? Or is it just me??
