Don't you think it's sometimes a case of having to be pushed into honing our skills.....we all get complacent, doing the same thing the same way for years and years. You spend a long time training, then are grateful to be earning money (hopefully).....and if there's something we're not very adept at doing, we just carry on the same old way 'cos 'it'll do'.......

Absolutely Mardy! I know my own shortfalls only too well
I work in a fairly busy shop so there is no excuse for it, but more often than not I will stick within my comfort zone. I often bypass the modern stuff in favour of the "bang-em-out" stuff! When I do dare to do something different, I love it !
Trouble is there is something strangely satisfying about conveyor belt floristry ! Does anyone else love banging out those banner items? Particularly at peak period, god I'm getting excited just thinking about it !

I always feel chuffed with myself when ive done a day of conveyor belt floristry too. Not because i love the designs necessarily, but coz ive got alot done ? Does that mean that ive compromised quality for quantity ? because ive rushed it ? I hope not !!

I am a neat freak and think my corsages could be cleaner! its the one thing i am not as confident in-corsages and i think i need to be a lot tougher, i need to be more business minded instead of lead with my heart and feel sorry for customers cos they are on a 'budget' and then throw in a couple more flowers etc...

I need to get paperwork in order. Sure i'll play pretty all day, but i end up 'putting it off'

As for a floristry thing...err...think its buying stock that is hard for me. i hate it, always price concious etc. I hate traditional stuff and weddings in fresh, tend to trim too short on stuff sometimes!!! x
