well im not sure to be honest i spoke with the family who i made the tribute for on saturday and they said it is still going, granted its in the garden now and being watered every coupla days but even so it was 3 weeks ago , i reckon if your gonna advise the family to take it home and water it after they found a suitable place for it, it worked fine for me!

Sounds good to me. weight's only a problem when you have to move it. Soon as it's there it doesn't matter.

to help move the design and cope with the weight it could be put on a piece of ply wood for a base board effect ~ the base board could be decorated with some sheet music or something to tie in with the drum ~ if was making the drum tribute thats what i would do ~ if you used paper for the sheet music clear cello could be used to cover it to make it waterproof in case of the foam leaking ~ i didn't do a drum i did do a treasure chest from a jumbo block with fresh yellow Xanths for the gold ~ to help with the weight i made a beach effect on a ply wood base ~ it's in my funeral tribute album
i glued floristry frogs to the board to help hold the wet foam in place
