Gemma have a look on the tall lily vase thread, can't remember where it is or who started it but there may be some tips there. Don't know how big your balls are () but could you put one piece of pot tape right round one half and another round the other half, so it quarters the ball if you see what I mean or cover it it in chicken wire to hold it together, you would obviously have to leave the bottom free though to be able to push it into the vase.

I use a fine green garden cane (Sprayed any colour you want) push it well through the ball ( just make a bigger version of a pomander)to secure it in possition, and glue both ends of the cane (Glue at the point the cane enters the ball and the other end to the vase) they never move,

It was me Breezy.... Gemma what did in the end, was use the top half of the oasis plastic compote dish. It comes in two half and you push them together(really naff as a dish). But the top is about the size of a square bottom o bowl. So i used that half and it sat lovely in the tall lily vase. I covered the bottom with Aspidestra leaf andused a fix to stop it wobbling !! worked a treat and didnt move in van !!

How about getting something like chicken wire or similar - maybe even a netting that is coated...put the sphere on top and cut the wire netting just to the size around the sphere in order to support the wet oasis...then also use the other supports mentioned in the other replies...suppose you would have to bend the netting tightly around th sphere so nobody can cut themselves...

Just an idea...?????
