Red and Gold Wedding

Hi All
I have a wedding to do in September, Bride is Welsh and Groom is Peruvian. Colour theme chosen for wedding is Red for the Welsh Dragon (or Draig Coch) and Gold for Incan Gold. My concern with this is I want to incorporate these elements without making it look too xmassy. Does anybody have any useful suggestions or ideas of how this can be achieved

spontaneous thought-red roses and gold wiring...nothing else!!! I just think the greens/foliage would add to the x-massy look!
(maybe a red rose hand tie with only gold wire wrapped around the 'edge'<for lack of a better word!> and the stems wrapped in red organza)
(or again a red rose hand tie with just a single ball made out of gold wire in the centre)
If you do have to use greens/foliage I'd go for the lighter green stuff like asparagus or....hehe...what ever else is lighter green in colour(sorry, no more sponaneiety for the green!)

The wirework idea is nice for the Peruvian connection, the Incas were superb metalworkers.

go with angels hair and red velvet roses.

if you can find the golden angels hair with salex painted in bronze or black. Green vibernam and hydrangeas will give some wow look.

Have a look at the pics in our album Asian Wedding. Our bride orginally wanted red and gold but it was far too dark - wedding bouquet was brill but you might have to intoduce a hint of white just to break it up a bit.

Thanks

Thanks for all the replies - has given me lots of food for thought and inspiration. Loving the idea of Gloriosa but she wants roses wonder whether I can persuade her

Am thinking where foliage needed (she wants a shower - although I suppose the traily bits could some how be gold ) to use variagated to lighten and very fine gold highlights as has been suggested. Wire work also strengthening the Peruvian connection I like that Rosa.

Had a look at your Asian Wedding Photos Lily Lady - looks gorgeous

If anybody has any more ideas please feel free to comment, I will be sure to put photies up when done.
