hi all, sorry if i have repeated anything but not only do you need a work permit for the child from your local education authority but my accountant says you need to fill in form P38S from the Revenue and Customs. (you can download from there web site)

Anybody got a nice 17 yr old daughter,,its high time he had his first love!! I keep trying to fix him up! I think about £3.50 an hour is fair for a 14-15yr old,,I don't think they are allowed to handle heavy objects or things like bleach,,but if they are family it doesn't apply!! HA HA HA HA,,, I make my kids work hard in my shop!!! I've had teenagers before on work experience etc,,they mostly drove me crazy so I don't bother anymore. I'm not very tolerant really,,I can shout at my kids but not at anybody elses' or they'd go home crying and I'd get sued for bullying!! Am not looking forward to next year though when my son goes to uni and my daughter thinks she's having his job,,,oh my goodness there would be fireworks cos she a totally different character,,hates hard work!! Just thought,,,not long after my daughter turned 13 last year she came home from school with a permission slip to work a few hours a week,,don't know where that came from but it was just automatically issued to her at that time.
Hi Lexy I have a 17 yr old daughter, sounds like she could do with some training from your son. When we opened a few weeks ago she gave up her Saturday job to come and work for me (her decision)- its a nightmare every Saturday is the same she strolls in 2 hrs after we open and if i even look at her the wrong way she starts stropping and ends up stomping off home. I think unless she improves she will be getting the sack! My middle one is 12 and she loves helping but not really practical to have her in the shop until she is a bit older. The big one is planning to go off to uni next year so perhaps i willput up with her until then.
