Dogs are very welcome in my shop, small children I'm less keen on, it depends on the quality of the parent. Some parents just seem to be able to ignore the ear piercing shrieks and grabbing hands, we had one little sod once who kept running behind the counter and into the back room and playing with the lockable door to upstairs, behind which all our bags with the keys to unlock said door were residing. Managed to intervene before we needed to call on the services of a locksmith!

btw, did you find a plumber Alice?

Ooooh yes, dogs more than welcome. mine comes in with me and is better behaved than most kids. It is the ear shredding screams that i can't cope with either.

Plumber Watch - Plumber arrives sunday, sucks through teeth 'its gonna cost ya' me 'Oh sh*t, how much' '£500 odd' big gulp and tears. Bad Times.

Expert arrives today, hoovers it out, yes really, its a sani poo grinder. Costs me £95.00. Good Times.

When I worked in the gift shop it was amazing the amount of people who broke stuff and didnt offer to pay! Wasn't my shop then cos they wouldn't get away with it now.

Glass vases used for most flowers, plastic buckets for foliage. I gained a few when I bought shop but have added to them from Matalan, Ikea, Asda, Tesco, Dunelms even a charity shop, just have to keep an eye out for the bargains. Kids .............. have no problem in telling the parents to keep them under control any more since we had one little 'darling' nearly pull my display shelves on top of himself.
