howdy alby!
funny you should ask about that, its what I've been doing this afternoon! I'm sick of people coming in off the street whilst eating their dinner asking "how much is a bouquet for a wedding?" (I dread that question, after nearly 15 years I still find it hard to answer without being sarcastic). I decided to make some leaflets just to give them something to take away if I was busy, I don't understand why if they make an appointment to see the venue or dressmaker or photographer why do they think they can just walk in off the street and expect we will have time to properly discuss their requirements? I've done average sort of prices and made it clear on the back of the leaflet the prices are to be used as a guide only, prices will vary according to type of flowers used, season, availiablity, style of use etc. I do appreciate when planning your wedding its difficult to work out budgets and this leaflet would give potential customers an idea of what to expect price wise. If you PM me your address I could send you one of our wedding packs! They're nothing fancy, just what I print off on my computer but your more than welcome to have a look! |

Howdy Jo and Tree! I would love a shufty a one of your packs Jo. I know what you mean tree re a guide price. I did have a price list written up with 'from' prices. To be honest i don't often get asked but i suppose its handy to send them off with something. I think my issue is that my policy is to work to the brides budget rather than dictate prices to them, as a new shop I don't think I'm in a position to, cos lets be honest, most of them don't have huge amounts to spend, i told one the other the average price is 500/600 quid, she looked horrified!! I'll PM my address over Jo. Many thanks.

Nope I don't do them. Every wedding fair without fail I'll get asked for one but I just don't see the point.
I could put handtieds from £65, but then I might get a bride who just wants a gerb handtied and that could be around £35 so it's just pointless. Plus - I cannot be arsed with brides who are going for their flowers based solely on price and would rather not be involved in that wedding. I will however tell them the average our brides have been spending on items that particular year to give them a guide as most people wouldn't have a clue and I can't blame them for that. |

I understand what your saying about making bespoke designs for weddings but I haven't met many brides that come in and wave a price list at me saying " I want a £50 handtied next week". All the brides we deal with do want that input into colours, flowers, shape, style etc and so don't expect to pay whats on the price list. Lots of people ordering wedding flowers don't have the foggiest about what decisions need to be made or the choices available, at least with a price list they can think about what they're wanting (and can afford) before they come and see me!.

Like you say, most probably don't have a clue about the cost and what they should budget for so getting an average guide price can only be good whether its verbal or on paper
