Cool room

Anyone know a source of second-hand cool room equipment or any other florist's classified sites?

Also looking for a low-priced source of circular mirrors for use with table centres.

Sorry flossie. can't help with the cool room.

As for the mirrors. Hoe many do you need. I tmight be cheeper to go directly to a shop that cuts mirrors to size if you don't need any surrounds on them. Take along the measurement and they cut it for you with bevelled edges so it is not sharp.

Good luck Louise

Is a cooler a must have item?

Hi Flossy I don't know a site or company that sells second hand florist coolers but there is a good company doing new ones, to name drop, Neil Whittaker used them for his shop. They are floracool.co.uk. Unfortunately new coolers are quite expensive but when I contacted them (I'm thinking of getting one) they said that they have a lease scheme where you can buy them over a period of time. I won't know more till their paperwork comes.
I'm still in debate as whether I need a cooler. My shop is cold for most of the year because it’s an old sandstone farm building, but I must admit I do worry about my wedding work in the warm months. I bought a big fan to keep on overnight but I don't know if that is enough. What do other florist think is a cooler a must have item?

I will be interested with this one. The florist i worked in didn't have a cooler, i too am worried about the warmer months and made up work.

Now i know as a rule flowers don't like aircon, but was thinking of putting a moveable one in my back room for made up stuff which will only need cooling for a few hours.

What do you all think/do

to cool or not to cool
