What to Wear
Can anybody help
I am fed up with feeling like crap in work.I don't have a uniform as such but i do have a huge blue jacket, which don't get me wrong, doe's the trick, but doesn't do anything for me! I know work isn't a fashion parade, but surely, there must be some sort of uniform or something out there that makes all us women feel abit good about ourselves. Like most women,if you feel that your clothes are not making you feel good, you tend not to make effort with anything else i.e make-up,hair. I know i don't,so if there's anyone out there that can help me, i would be so greatful! Thanks xx |

WELL BEING A GIRLIE, I ALWAYS STICK TO THE BLACK TROUSERS AND BLACK JUMPER, OR A TRENDY BLACK SKIRT WITH BOOTS, THEN ADD A FUNKY NECKLACE ETC, IF YOU LOOK SMART/TRENDY YOU WILL FEEL ALOT BETTER AND THAT SHOULD REFLECT ON THE SHOP. I HATE THE TABBARDS AND APRONS, BUT WHEN WE'RE ALL MUCKING IN WITH THE DELIVERIES THEN THE REVOLTING APRONS GO ON, AND OFF AGAIN PRETTY QUICKLY! HOPE THIS HELPS, SALLY, AND I'M FROZEN HERE AT THE MOMENT,

When I opened my shop I went to a local place that does workwear and embroiders the company name etc on as I work 6 sometimes 7 days a week I didn't think it was unreasonable to order myself a new wardrobe
of tops all done in my shop colours with the logo on i've got tshirts, blouses and loads of different long and short sleave tops jumpers and fleeces it means I can still feel nice about what i'm wearing and have a change but its also got the same look as a uniform by keeping the colours and logo the same.Sally - I'm frozen too, won't be long before I have to dig the good old thermals out of the back of the wardrobe!! I didn't think i'd be wearing thermals at 32! ![]() |

We do the whole embrodered company look here aswell, all in black now and we have bright coloured tee shirts for the summer.
At this time of year the staff wear - under tee-shirts, longsleeved shirts, jumpers and light jackets if needed. All topped of with Santa hats with "Say Happy Christmas with flowers from 1800 MyFlorist on the rim" - good craic and it keeps your head warm!. Our female staff are given fitted shirts and jackets to make them feel more confertable, the guys also wear jackets when it comes to deliveries and christmas trees. All our supplied clothing is embrodidered with Names, shop phone number etc etc. The cost of doign this is high, so the staff all pay 50% towards the cost, and they can be as much as they want (if they want 3 jackets no problem!), they are all responsable for the hygiene and general appearance of their clothes and 'tatty' uniform is not accepted. In referance to the reply earlier on girls looking well in a shop and you would be more likely to spend more, I would belive this and I think that all staff (guys and girls) must have neat appearance, nails cleaned, no jewellery, hair styled, fresh breath etc as this is the image your customer wants. In summer the guys and girls wear chino shorts , which are both smart and comfortable. Image is key to everything.
