Just had a little old lady come in the shop saying she was disappointed because her flowers only lasted two weeks!!!!Ummmmm isn't that how long they are suppossed to last????I said she had got a good vase life out of them and that tescos usually guarenteed theirs for two weeks at the most!!!I'm going for a nice massage soon,can't wait!!!Bring it on!!

You just got to love them!! "customers" that is.

Depending on the conditions in her house two weeks seem jolly good to me for a customer's flowers to last. I am with Flowers Direct and they offer 5 days to customers. I think Asda and Tesco offer 7 days for cut flowers, they may offer 2 weeks for plants? That could be were the customer is getting confused. The supermakets know that people like to see the 7 day offer but if they don't last the distance I bet only a small portion go to the trouble of taking them back..........you know how long they keep you waiting at their customer service desks. Most people won't think it's worth the bother for the few pounds involved. Sadly it's not the same with a florist shop - the phrase "sitting targets" comes to mind!

people with nothing better to do than complain are the worst! I know of a someone through a friend of a friend that vitrually makes a living out of complaining, she gets discounts by complaining about nearly everything!!

You're not far wrong there. Can't believe how many times i had that conversation with people..
"I thought i'd try you today because the last flowers i bought from the supermarket died in a couple of days!"
"Oh really...did you take them back?"
"Well...no...it's too much hassle going in there"
"I see..and if you had bought them here....would you have brought them back?"
"probably"
"So that's why they have achieved the title of 'largest flower retailer in the world"
"Seriously madam...i can go into the market and buy a lorry load of crap flowers for next to nothing. If i thought i could sell them all and not get any back, i'd open a chain of shops right across the country. Somehow...i don't think that's going to happen"
