Famous designer florist

Hi all,
I am currently doing C & G in floristry & have been told we will do a study on a famous designer florist of our choice. I only know of a couple & would like to research a few so I can decide who I want to do my study on. Does anyone have any names they can suggest?
Thanks

Hello again Hells Are you going to the Spring Florist Event in Birmingham you will pick up lots of leaflets and information on flowers etc which may be ouse during your course, several designs shows are ongoing during the two days and there is also competitions and all entries can be viewed after the judging as well as lots of other seminars ie marketing, sales, and also some designers from Society will demonstrate and talk you through some aspects of floristry as to what is required in examination it may be anything from funeral, wedding, arrangements or just simple bouquets also some great floristry books or you can join up for subscription to flower magazines I found it very interesting it is held in the ICC in Birmingham and is next Sunday and Monday 20th/21st hope you will find something in all this useful. Hi Hells,

For sure you will see alot of the top designers in Birmingham and will be inspired by their work. I have just read a study on designer floirsrty on Conatance Spry (1886-1960) she was an amazing woman and is truley an inspiration to me now more so than ever. Even now her floristry school still runs in her name 46 years after her death. It would be great to do a comparasing to one of our modern designers. Enjoy SFE

Hi Hells,
If you can get your hands on Focal Point Autumn 05 and Focal Point Autumn 06 there is a good article in both one on Kathleen Bretherick and the other on Rona Coleman may help with your course gives details of both from they left school and both have written floristry books you could probably get them or perhaps those particular articles from Society Of Floristry and you can join as a student member if you want to persue and can't get either article let me know and I will try to send both to you. Rach
