haha excited, nervous, and every other rollercoaster emotion. keep having setbacks on the opening date. i am running the business from home at the mo so am looking after the littlun when she isn't at playschool, taking her on deliveries with me, running the business so have to keep popping back home to check for orders coming through/answer phone messages, getting all my outside planting done for the freont of the shop, popping down to diy shop for supplies for the decorator (started this from day one, thought it would be better than keep losing him to get supplies and going missing for an hour
) and keeping house along with the other 2 offspring and hubby.I need a drink reading that. feel like i am moaning constantly because the house is messy, but working from home is a nightmare. everytime i go down to the workshop the dog and my youngest come too and roll around in the mud, so one bunch of flowers that takes 20 mins to make up takes and hour by the time i have changed her clothes wiped the dog over, swept and washed the floor (they keep running in and out )oh god i am moaning again sorry but you asked ![]()

WOW - You sure are busy...
It sounds like a bit of a nightmare, but at the same time very exciting...just take care of yourself otherwise you will be run down before you know it.... I don't take it as moaning...you are going thru a very busy time and I am sure you are feeling like you are in a whirlwind at the moment...You will get thru it I am sure and I am also sure the business will be a great success.!! I am in awe of you doing all of that and have a little one also...I don't have any children but do wonder how I would cope if I did?? - What an inspiration..!! ![]() |

It has calmed down - Thank God...Don't know why I do it to myself.
Last weekend there were 4 but this week only one and that's pretty much how the rest of the weeks leading into Christmas are... so the year is winding down and I do feel a little more relaxed. I do however have a Bride coming this afternoon to book with me for her Wedding In December - it is quite a large one so I guess I can't wind down too much yet... I have been taking plenty of enquiries/ bookings for March / April next year, so that is when it will start getting a little stressful again. I will have a few weeks off straight after Xmas but after that It will be straight into the horrid Valentines Day - NOT looking forward to THAT..!!! - But I guess I will have to start thinking about it... |

valentines day seems like a million years off at the mo, don't even want to think about that
![]() have a great time on your hols after xmas, do you find it hard to relax though, leaving the shop with someone else. i will probably be a right pain in the rear end when i have my first break, keep phoning in and making sure everything is ok.

Louise.. Here it is very acceptable to close over the Christmas/ New Year period..Just about every florist does it, apart from those in major Shopping Centres - They have to open.
Christmas is VERY hot here and business is just about Zero. In the beginning I didn't agree with the practice, but I have now realised that it is not worth opening. So every Christmas eve, I close up and can have a relaxing break - don't have to worry about anything - (Except the time going so fast and how I will be back before I know it) I am located near an industrial area and just to give you an indication more than half of these business also close so there is just no one around. I CAN"T wait....approx 8 weeks to go and I will then be at Noosa sitting on the deck of the Boat Club having a few COLD beers..!! yay - ![]() |
