Florist News

Is it me? Since becoming a florist a hot drink during working hours is a fictional item?! I seem to find I have a nice hot coffee one minute and by the time I get to drink it it may as well have ice cubes in it!!

Makes me wonder if I'm wasting money on coffee, tea-bags and electric from boiling the kettle!!

Anyone else?

I know! Its not just you! I've taken to trying to drink directly out of my thermos bottle...hence burnt lips! (do you call it thermos bottle?hope you know what I mean!) I have become a big fan of iced coffee...rather espresso....kicks in faster! and my end of day coffee is treasured! Also have problems with finishing a cigarette...not a bad thing I know but it gets expensive when you lite one up and 3/4 of it just simmer away.....

Little bits slip into threads that seem to link us all in a similar fashion.
I wonder if because we have all chosen floristry as a career, if there is a certain dispositi0on and genetic tendancy to be similar in so many other ways.
Studying for my ph.d in genetic history and environmental characteristics in my spare time. HEE hee, only joking
What spare time and also you need a fuuly functional brain for that. Mine is pickled and smoked for all eternity

I drink herbal tea, if it goes cold it still tastes nice!

I get free coffee from the bar opposite and passive smoke from all the smokers loitering outside like nesting pigeons.And I dont even smoke! All free though, hoorah!

I like cold coffee too. You kind of get used to it I guess haha.

I bought myself one of those thermos mugs that you see builders drinking out of while they're driving (!!) but its a godsend - the best couple of quid i've ever spent. Make a cuppa just as you open, serve 3-4 customers, make a couple of aquas, sweep the floor....."bugger!! forgot about me coffee!" - no worries, still toastie warm after a good hour sat in the corner

Excellent, thanks for that Arum. I will definately invest in one. I am in work today and FREEZING! It has gone really nippy this afternoon. Too busy washing buckets to go upstairs and brew a coffee. (Wonder if Tesco's sell them) Cheers for the idea.
