We always take the pollen out BUT if the flower isn't open well we are not magicians I remember a lady coming in just after I started in floristry and was in shop on my own for 10 mins and she started to roar at me being the quick tempered person I am I thought I have to walk away so I put my hand up palm facing her and said 'sorry I can't speak to you unless you wish to speak to me in a calm manner excuse me' walked out the back and had a fag came back she was still standing there looking gob smacked but did give me her complaint in a calm manner the laugh was when she started to name the person who dealt with her it was the florist round the corner and not us at all guess the size of the grin on my gob

We always remove any pollen we can get to.
Some customers are just so rude and often when they're like that, no matter what you do to put it right they will never use you again anyway. Any customer coming into my shop shouting being agressive or swearing will just get thrown out no discussion, its only happened once and that was because she didn't like the colour that someone had ordered for her, if she'd have been nice about it i'd have gone out of my way to sort it out even though it wasn't our fault. But as she was so agressive I threw her out and barred her! ![]() |

Who takes the pollen out
I always remove the pollen. I always ask when making up any bq's if the recipient likes lillies, amazing the amount of folk who hate lillies, one customer says they smell like cats pee to her?? Saves a lot of bother too, as quite a few folk are allergic to the smell, gives me a headache in the summer if I have quite a few in the shop, although I love the smell
Some folk will not have chrys either? no pleasing some folk.![]() |

silly old bag.
i always take the pollen out. if the lillie is open enough to get at i use tweezers so as not to damage the petals by spreading them too early. i would have forgone the 60 quid resale to stick them up her axxe
