Smelly cabbages
Hi everyone
hope we're all well! Just had a query which I have now dealt with, but I wondered what you guys may have done! I made up a beautiful hand tie last thursday, in reds and pinks and I included some cabbages, which I absolutley love. I delivered it myself and the recipient was really chuffed. But, she has just called me and said that she absolutely loves the bouquet but it stinks to high heaven! I explained that it may be the cabbages, and the water really needs changing daily. I also offered to drop round some replacement flowers, so she could pull the cabbages out and put a few other flowers in their place. She explained that she loves the look of them and doesn't want to ruin the look of the hand tie, but its making her house smell- fair enough I thought! So I have just dropped some lillies round to her- happy customer! But, this got me thinking- should I use cabbages in orders unless someone specifically asks for them! They do tend to whiff a bit sometimes! What would/do you guys do? |

I tend to put no more than two in things and always include something else heaviley scented like lilies...we also have this problem with alliums, such a shame cos I love the big alliums!

i love using cabbages, but i do tend to warn the customers about the smell, usually they say use it anyways, and some ask to just notify recipient when delivering it. which we do.

I Agree With Sosas If You Use Them With Sweet Smelling Flowers It Would Be Better. I Used Them A Lot Last Week With No Complaints-yet. I Am A Bit Cautious About Using Them On Occasions Because Sometimes They Don't Last Very Well Especially The Dark Colours I Find.
