How do you value corporate clients
Just wondering what value you put on corporate clients. Another shop near us is closing, offered us the business yesterday but declined, then wondered how much to offer her to buy her corporate clients, as she has a few big offices, or do I just wait and go in after she has closed and try and win the business.
Thats 3 flower shops + 2 rail station stalls in Basingstoke that have closed in the 2 years since we open ![]()

You don't really want to be 'buying' customers. You'll still have to win them over in order to keep them, so why not just do that to start with.

Don't see why you'd have to buy them?! Does the other florist have a contract with them guaranteeing a certain amount of business?
If corporate contracts are such bad payers then why not invoice a stage payment up front against the 1st job.

sorry,,but I have to put my two pennorth in here,,,lots of folks go on about corporate clients and turn their nose up at you if you don't have shedloads of them to do every week,,,I've come across quite a few of these,,when the reality is that a lot of the time they are a pain in the backside and just not worth it. I have a few but there is only 1 of them that is worth it. The rest are very slow payers and constantly ever more demanding with what they want and don't want. I'm on the verge of telling one of them where to go,,,but that would be rude and I would never be rude to my customers!!!
Most of them want a £50 item for about £15,,,I've got one that wants the same colours and flowers every week but wants it to look different as well,,,duhhh!! I definately would not buy those accounts,, wait a week or 2 then call in and introduce yourself and leave them something free for an incentive to use you,,,if you really really want them that is. I'd say thats a bit of a cheek of the other shop asking you to "buy" them,,,how can they guarantee those customers will stay with you after they have closed,,,,hhmmm,,,,they can't really can they.
