I thought about doing this, before i actually had my shop, but in reality i've never actually got round to it. I couldn't get my head round how it would work, how you would track it, how to make it so it couldn't be forged, what reward to give people, etc.
I also didn't want people to come to me just because they got some money off their flowers (i know it's all money in the till, but i like to think people are using me because they like my work) and from my own past experiences in shops where you get a stamp on a card to get something free, i either lose the card or its expired by the time i go back there again.

Sorry that all sounds a bit negative - hopefully someone else will have seen it in operation and be able to shed a bit more light on it

Hi ARUMflowers, many thanks for your input....despite it having a negative touch...but I welcome ALL opinions! Quite a few answers came on the flowerchat....do you chat on there as well? Rainbow is there....

Hi Bluebellinata, I haven't been over to flower chat this week because my pc has been having problems which still are not sorted (I've stolen an hour on someone elses because I am having chat withdrawal symptoms) anyway the point of telling you that was to say I don't know what advice you were given over there so if I give the same forgive me.
I haven't tried loyalty cards myself yet, although I have been thinking about it. We have a card making shop at the craft centre and they have a very successful loyalty scheme. They have a card for customer which have stamps put onto them every time they purchase goods over £5. Once the card is full it gives them £5 off their next purchase. I think that it works out at about a 5% discount. As an extra bonus they have a goldcard which customers who spend a lot on a regular basis can "Purchase" to get 10% off their goods and special offers. I will check on all the details later today when I go into work.
I am not sure when I will get back onto a pc to give you the details fully so you will just have to watch this space I am afraid. by the way I still haven't found my picture of the shoulder corsage. I haven't given up looking, I've got so much stuff to look through it could take some time

I do have Loyalty Cards in my shop and it works really well.I am giving them to each customer and next time they are coming they are getting 10% discount, then a stamp, then 20%, and so on. All my customers are using them and it really works. Some of them are keeping their cards in my shop and they never forget to remind me about the stamp. They are not getting discounts each time, but they are very happy when it comes to 50%.
