I saw this on Metz site yesterday this could be the next big thing in flowers/floristry like to know what people think

Are they just looking for more cutomers or are they going to take over the world



Metz and Fleura start International Purchasing Joint Venture

Fleura and Metz share the vision that economies of scale and internationalisation (of the production) are the developments on which the flower industry must act upon to strengthen its position.

The boards of Metz and Fleura have therefore decided to merge their strengths and integrate their international sourcing.
Both partners will bring their import activities under the Metz-Fleura Purchasing Joint Venture umbrella.

The Metz-Fleura Purchasing Joint Venture will be responsible for the purchasing of more than 20,000 florists in the mid- and high segments in Europe and North America.

The Purchasing Joint Venture will be led by Sidney Moll (Fleura) and Richard Koenen (Metz).

They are very good and easy to deal with

I think their press release is not terribly well worded.

This bit;

..sort of suggests they are looking to take over 20,000 shops, but what they really mean is that they will be supplying 20,000 shops.

I agree with Jim, we like Metz too.

I have re-read several times and emailed carrington and I think from she has said you may be right about it not being weel worded

Hehehe I did a double take on that, thinking they were looking for shops to buy. I got all excited for a moment, daydreaming about offering them mine.
